Water Jokes

Water Jokes est une collaboration entre Adriana Gallo et Lucky risograph. Il contient une collection de photographies et d'images trouvées avec un texte d'accompagnement de l'artiste sur Giochi d'acqua ou "jeux d'eau" ou "blagues sur l'eau", le terme faisant à l'origine référence aux automates à eau (souvent cachés) des jardins maniéristes italiens. En combinant farces d'eau, reproductions de jardins maniéristes, grottes, vidéos FrogTok, parcs aquatiques et divers automates aquatiques, le livre ne condamne ni ne célèbre l'artificiel mais présente une collection incomplète d'une compulsion très humaine à dominer et re-présenter l'eau.

Water Jokes

Water Jokes is a collaboration between Adriana Gallo and Lucky risograph. It contains a collection of photographs and found images with an accompanying text by the artist on Giochi d’acqua or “water games'' or “water jokes”, the term originally referring to the (often hidden) water automata of Italian Mannerist gardens. In combining water pranks, reproductions of Mannerist gardens, grottoes, FrogTok videos, water parks, and various aquatic automata, the book neither condemns nor celebrates the artificial but presents an incomplete collection of a very human compulsion to dominate and re-present water.
